Need Help With A Wolverine Costume?

I'm making this Wolverine costume for an event , and I just want to keep things simple. I don't want to go and buy some full suit online. I'm thinking about just wearing some dark blue nylon sweatpants, the claws, and then i'm buying some yellow under - armor for my upper body. The problem is that I want to get the Wolverine design on the under - armor.  I have someone who can draw the design , but we just don't know what to use for it...should it be spray paint, markers or paint, or.....?
